PrescribeIT® Transactions and AutoFill

When processing a PrescribeIT® transaction for an existing prescription that is enrolled in AutoFill, a prompt will display to inform you that a prescription for this medication is currently on the Patient Folder.

When the prompt displays, you must select if you want to process the existing prescription enrolled in the AutoFill program or the incoming PrescribeIT® transaction.

Select one of the following:

  • Refill - Fills the existing prescription enrolled in the AutoFill program. For more information, see PrescribeIT® Transactions and AutoFill.

The new PrescribeIT® transaction is returned to the PrescribeIT® > To Do tab for processing at a future date.

Note: This option is not available if there are no more refills remaining on the existing prescription.

  • ReAuth - The new PrescribeIT® transaction is used to reauthorize the existing AutoFill prescription, voiding any remaining refills. This continues to audit trail for the existing AutoFill prescription. For more information, see PrescribeIT® Transactions and AutoFill

The AutoFill prescription currently in the To Do tab is removed in lieu of this prescription.

  • New Rx - Creates a new prescription using the new PrescribeIT® transaction. This creates a new, separate audit trail on the patient's Profile and does not link the prescription to the existing AutoFill prescription.

You will have the option to select if this prescription is added to the AutoFill program. This does not affect the enrollment of the existing AutoFill prescription.

  • Cancel - neither the existing AutoFill prescription or the incoming PrescribeIT® transaction are processed. The PrescribeIT® transaction is returned to the PrescribeIT® > To Do tab.
